Jim Caviezel’s John Reese on ‘Person of Interest’

Seriously ... would you want someone like Reese mad at you? (Photo Ref from a publicity shot - I think. The site I found it wasn't in Engllish)

The Mets lost this afternoon… or late afternoon if you want to go by the slightly more than four and a half hour game time. It was a heartbreaker – Bryce Harper hit a two-run opposite field homer to make it a walk-off for Washington and it left me feeling rather depressed and not in the mood to write more about baseball.

I decided to draw something non-baseball related instead and I chose Jim Caviezel’s character of John Reese on the show “Person of Interest”, which will be starting up again in the fall. Reese is one of my favorite people to watch on TV. He’s a badass who is also capable of showing some deeper level of emotion under his seeming stoic exterior. The show hasn’t made him invincible either – he’s been shot more than once and he nearly perished alongside one of his partners, Joss Carter. Carter did pass away and the arc after that where he just went nearly completely insane with grief was some of the show’s best.

It’s going to be interesting to what happens next – everyone on the “Good” side is on the run and Decima sees to be sitting in the catbird seat.  Can Reese, Harold Finch, Samantha Shaw and Root all stay breathing throughout Season 4? Will Lionel Fusco join them on the side of the angels again or will he be fooled by the new people controlling Samaritan, the new more powerful Machine?

I’ll be staying tuned.
