September is going to be here before we know it, and that means one thing… Season Premieres. I’m going to be drawing various characters from the shows that I like to watch. Tonight’s drawing is of Agent Phil Coulson from the show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Coulson, played by Clark Gregg, also has appeared in nearly every Marvel movie since Iron Man, so fans are quite familiar with him.
What I’m hoping for is the show to continue on the track that it decided to take once the Captain America: The Winter Soldier hit the theaters. It became a much more intricate, action-oriented show (that Agent May/Agent Ward fight in the finale kicked ass). It was no longer the relatively bland show that took very few chances.
Coulson is an enigma himself, since the end of the first season saw him staring at a bunch of formula that he had written on a hotel room wall, and I’m curious as to what direction that is going to go. I’m very cautiously optimistic about the second season, but it’s a precarious position, because there is a lot of room for error here and I’m hoping that it stays true to its potential. Gregg is a great actor, but the other cast members have to step up – though Ming-Na is more than capable herself. That means the dorky scientists have to step their game up and so does Chloe Bennet’s Skye – I want to find out what makes her so dangerous and sought after.
I’m going to watch it… but with a very discerning eye.
